Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryE. MICHELLE (SHELLY) BUCHANNON (nee YALLOP) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Michelle Buchannon at the St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, March 18, 2007 with her family by her side. Known by her family and friends as Shelly, her loving smile and selfless caring way will be sadly missed by her daughters, Dallas and Dana; husband Wayne; brother Ben and sister in-law Ruth, and countless dear friends and family. Shelly was predeceased by her father Ben, and mother Irene. Shelly was born September 8, 1945 in Dauphin, Manitoba. After high school she moved to Winnipeg with her mother Irene where she married her husband Wayne Buchannon June 17, 1972 and worked at Air Canada until 1975 when her first daughter Dallas was born. Her second daughter, Dana, was born a year and a half later in 1977 and the family moved to St. Vital where Shelly formed many special relationships with those around her. Shelly's sense of family and community truly shaped her life. She was the most wonderful mother, loving wife, true friend, kind and honest neighbour, and impeccable gardener. Her spirit will live on in all who were touched by her love and kindness, as her heart was truly big enough for anyone and everyone. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, at the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital and to Dr. Helga Sickert for her compassion and care throughout the years. Also, thank you to Shelly's many loving friends for your thoughtfulness and support. A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, March 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park, 1291 McGillivary Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 9Z9 or a charity of your choice.
